Can the renowned Professor Higgins, author of Higgins’s Universal Alphabet, turn a young Cockney flower girl into a lady simply by teaching her to speak proper?

And what constitutes a “lady” anyway? Or a “gentleman” for that matter? Pygmalion has much to say about social class, money, spiritual freedom and women’s independence.

Shaw’s classic and delightful comedy combines social comment, rich comic characterisation and shrewd understanding of human nature.

I could pass you off as the Queen of Sheba!
