Zoom Reading 9th April
This will take the place of the social play-reading which usually precedes auditions. Because it will have to be Zoom, we won’t read all the play but will cast some volunteers to read selected extracts. Please email amnd@chesiltheatre.org.uk if you wish to be at the Zoom event and also tell us if you are happy to read.

Audition Forms
Please complete and submit these using our online form where possible.
If you prefer a printed copy, there are separate forms for men and women and these can be sent by email to amnd@chesiltheatre.org.uk or by mail to Chesil Theatre, c/o 14 Marston Gate, Winchester SO23 7DS.

All audition forms need to reach us no later than 12 April. We may then ask you to send a video of yourself acting an extract which will be sent to you.*

Rehearsals
Please be aware that almost all rehearsals will have to take place outside because of COVID restrictions – this will usually be at Humphrey Farms just outside Twyford. If government regulations permit in due course, we hope to be able to arrange car sharing for those who may not have their own transport.

We will try to keep to the rehearsal schedule – usually three evenings a week plus some Sunday afternoons - but we may well have to reschedule because of the weather so other days or times may be added. Earlier rehearsals will have to start by 6.30 pm to make the most of the light.

The cast may also be asked to take part in a publicity event or events to promote the show - e.g. costume appearance on Winchester High Street during the Hat Fair.

*Casting:
Where there are several applicants for a role or a person has put ‘as cast’, we may send out audition pieces and guidance asking you to make a short video of yourself in that part. We won’t be expecting perfection, just something to give us an idea of which part might suit you best. The process will be overseen by two members of the Production Subcommittee as is normal practice but if you have any concerns at all, please get in touch with the Producer, Helen Bliault: amnd@chesiltheatre.org.uk

If offered a part, you will be required to become a member of Chesil Theatre.
