Frequently Asked Questions

Tickets & Booking

How do I book tickets for your shows?
You can either book online from chesiltheatre.org.uk, call on 0333 666 3366, or visit one of our Open Mornings to book in-person.

How much are tickets?
Standard adult tickets vary from £16-£18. Students and under 18s are £12.

Do you offer a group discount?
Yes, there is a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more adult tickets.

Am I able to return tickets?
Tickets are non-refunable. If you give us at least 7 days notice, we can try to move your booking to another day. With at least 48 hours notice we can attempt resale of the ticket if there is a waiting list. Tickets are transferable, so you can always pass your ticket onto somebody else.

Do you offer a waiting list for sold-out shows?
Yes! You can join a waiting list via the booking system.

Getting Here

Where are you located?
Chesil Theatre is on Chesil Street, Winchester, SO23 0HU. Our building was once St Peter's Church!

Do you offer parking?
Chesil Theatre does not have its own dedicated car park, however the Chesil Street Multi-Storey Car Park is just across the road (and is free after 6pm on Monday-Saturday and all day on Sunday!).

Can I get to you on public transport?
Yes! We are a five minute walk from the main Winchester Bus Station and 25 minutes walk from the train station.

In The Theatre

What time do your shows start?
Our evening performances start at 7:30pm. Our Sunday matinee starts at 2:30pm. The theatre is open thirty minutes before performance to allow you to visit our fully licenced bar that serves drinks, snacks and ice-creams.

Do you have an interval?
Most of our shows do have an interval, however some do not. We will note where shows don't have an interval in the booking information. Our advice would be to pre-order your interval drinks and ice-cream from the bar!

Am I able to visit the theatre outside of performances?
Yes! We offer an Open Morning of the first Saturday of the month from 10:30am-12:30pm, offering a chance to meet some of our members, tour the theatre and have some complimentary tea or coffee.

Accessibility

Is your building wheelchair accessible?
Yes and no. While our auditorium is wheelchair accessible, our medieval building means that so far we do not have a lift or accessible toilets. This has been a key reason for us wanting to build the New Chesil Theatre next door, to allow us to be fully accessible.

Do you have a wheelchair space in the theatre?
Yes. A1 is our designated wheelchair space. To book or discuss other requirements, please email [email protected]

Do you offer aids for hearing support?
We operate an infared audio system. A headset can be requested for any performance from the Front of House Manager.

Are assistance dogs permitted in the theatre!
Yes, for both performance and other activities. We reccommend booking the end of a row seat in performance, for additional space.
