The writer, composer, television producer and director is bringing his faithful hound to the Chesil Theatre, Winchester, on Saturday July 29th for an evening of wry humour
Alfie recently featured in Charles' book of whimsical verse entitled ‘My Labrador Eats Poo’ (not quite as disgusting as it sounds) illustrated by Harry Venning.
"Alfie is not a performing dog," said Charles. "He does not walk on a tightrope, juggle, or dance on his hind legs. The reason for his reluctance to follow current trends and audition for TV talent shows is simply that Alfie is happy to be a Labrador. And it has to be said that he maintains this role with dignity and distinction."
Charles is going back to his roots as an actor and will reminisce, with contributions from Alfie, about his life and work during the golden age of situation comedy. Original music interludes have been composed by Rick Wakeman
"Theatre goers from 8-97 are welcome," said Charles. "But no other dogs please ... too distracting for my partner!"
