Chesil Theatre Winchester opens the New Year with Duet for One by Tom Kempinski which runs from 20th to 27th January 2018. This poignant and moving play won a London Theatre Critics’ Award and was subsequently made into a film starring Julie Andrews.
The drama looks at what happens when an unexpected event leads to a challenging change in lifestyle. Music has been the passion of virtuoso violinist Stephanie since the age of six. Suddenly struck down by a debilitating disease, she is denied her first love and faces an uncertain future. Through a series of interviews with her psychiatrist we learn about her childhood, her marriage to an equally starry musician and her all-encompassing desire – to create music.
Tickets are now available from www.chesiltheatre.org.uk with a special talkback session after the performance on Tuesday 23rd January 2018.
