1183: Henry II of England, the most powerful monarch in Europe, has his troubles. He’s locked up his formidable wife, Eleanor of Aquitaine. He’s sleeping with the French king’s sister, who’s promised in marriage to one of his sons. And his sons are plotting to overthrow him. Comedic in tone, dramatic in action - sibling rivalry, adultery and scheming come together for a royal family Christmas.
