A witty and savage satire of Hitler's rise to power, telling the story of gangster Aruto Ui as he seizes control of the vegetable trade in 1930s Chicago. With echoes of Charlie Chaplin, Al Capone, Shakespeare and Goethe, Brecht's compelling parable continues to have relevance wherever tolatarianism appears today.

Reading and Audition Info.

Our readings are social occasions where members of the public are welcome to join us reading the play! They give a sense of the play, and the director's vision, but they are not auditions and are open to all. The reading for The Resistible Rise of Artuto Ui will be at 7:30pm at the theatre on 5th September 2025.

The cast comprises of 7-15 roles, all of which will be cast age and gender blind. Auditions will be held at 7:30pm on 7th and 8th September at the theatre. You do not need to attend both dates and do not need to book to audition, just turn up!
