Branwell Brontë returns home in disgrace. It is 1845 and while he descends into alcoholism and self-loathing, bringing chaos to the household, his three sisters write. Working within the confines of the isolated parsonage, Charlotte, Emily and Anne enter the imagined world of their fictional characters, who come to disturb their creators.

Reading and Audition Info.

Our readings are social occasions where Chesil members and members of the public can come and either join in with a read-through of the play, or simply listen in! They give a sense of the play, and the director's vision, but they are not auditions and are open to all. The reading for Brontë will be at 7:45pm at the theatre on 1st March 2024.

The cast comprises of 4 females, ages 20-30 and 2 males, one 25-25 and the other 50+. Auditions will be held at 7:45pm on 3rd and 4th March at the theatre. You do not need to attend both dates and do not need to book to audition, just turn up!
